Martha’s Country Baking
Website— Martha’s Country Baking
Address. 263 Bedford Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211
Good to know — Historic significance, everything is baked in house
Martha’s Country Bakery has become one of the best bakeries in Williamsburg thanks to good old-fashioned hard work. In a world where everyone is trying to create the next best thing, Marthas is staying true to the classics but executing them extremely well.
Everything is baked on site using fresh, quality ingredients and it can be appreciated with every bite. My go-to’s at Martha’s are always either the cheesecake or apple pie (sometimes both) although my husband swears by the lemon meringue tart. It’s hard to make a bad choice at Martha’s since it’s one of the best bakeries in Williamsburg, Brooklyn!

Bakeri
Website— Bakeri
Address. 150 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211
Good to know — Friendly staff, colorful interior
Trying any one of Bakeri’s delicacies is like seeing color for the first time. Everything from their coffee creations to delicious baked goods is guaranteed to satisfy, which is why I consider this one of the best bakeries in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Everything about this bakery is downright charming. Make sure to really take the time to appreciate the details of the antique plates and paintings on the wall. Swinging by Bakeri feels like visiting. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the baked goods really live up to the hype.
Napoli Bakery
Website— Napoli Bakery
Address. 616 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211
Good to know — Known for their bread, recently opened a sandwich shop
Napoli Bakery makes our list of best bakeries in Williamsburg not for their sweet treats but for their bread. The family owned business has been. What’s more, the Williamsburg bakery recently branched out into making sub sandwiches out of the fresh loaves of bread.
Classic Italian subs take over the menu and high-quality ingredients are used to create harmonious combinations that will make you weak in the knees. The portions are generous and I find splitting a sandwich tends to be the way to go.
Word to the wise; this Williamsburg bakery is a CASH-ONLY establishment. Come prepared!

One visit and you’ll understand why the regulars never leave.
Northside Bakery
Website— Northside Bakery
Address. 149 N 8th St, Brooklyn, NY 11211
Good to know — Authentic Polish goodies, there is a hot bar so folks swing by for lunch often
When Northside Bakery was first founded in 1992, it was a cozy little bakery. After one year of operation, the bakery was forced to move to Williamsburg’s Northside due to its wild level of success (hence the name). All these years later, demand for the family-run Williamsburg bakery has only increased.
Boasting awards for having some of the best bread and artisanal pastries in the city, it’s not surprising to see them on a list of best bakeries in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The Polish heritage of Northside Bakery runs deep. A hot bar with authentic foods, imported goods, and of course mouthwatering baked goods can all be found under one roof here.
Fair warning, waiting in line exposes you to temptation. Polish imports that are readily available on the shelves will quickly distract you and you won’t be able to leave empty-handed!
Patisserie Tomoko
Website— Patisserie Tomoko
Address.568 Union Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211
Good to know — Adorable interior, friendly staff
One of the most stunning bakeries in Williamsburg is Patisserie Tomoko. Specializing in Japanese-influenced French treats nothing. If you struggle to make decisions (guilty!) I highly recommend ordering the tasting menu. This way you can leave decisions up to the professionals and just enjoy the ride.
The interior is full of light with bright green plants sprinkled throughout the space creating a warm and welcoming environment to linger. The staff is extremely kind and the service is always top-notch. My only complaint about this Williamsburg bakery is that the pastries are almost too cute to eat (almost…let’s not get crazy here).
Locals Tip. After you’re done eating your weight in pastries take a short walk over to Talea Beer Co. it’s one of the best breweries in Brooklyn.

Ceremonia Bakeshop
Website— Ceremonia Bakeshop
Address. 743 Driggs Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211
Good to know — Popular for the chorizo burrito, almost always a line
Ceremonia Bakeshop is the perfect example of a “fine, I’ll fix it myself” situation. What started as a simple bakeshop turned into something no one was expecting. After moving to NYC from San Francisco, businesswoman Amy Batista quickly realized there weren’t many places to find a decent breakfast burrito in the city. Her solution? She’ll just do it herself!
Knowing that the burritos on the West Coast were no match to those on the East Coast, Batista set out on a mission to bring that flavor to NYC.
Today, you’ll find a line out the door (daily) at this Williamsburg bakery just for folks to get their grubby little hands on a burrito. But don’t just stop at the burritos, the baked goods are equally as amazing.

Unpopular opinion. I’ll say it. the best bakeries in NYC aren’t the ones with lines around the block.
Local tip. Between you and me, the seasonal menu is always better than the regular one. Ask what’s fresh today.
Happy Zoe Vegan Bakery
Website— Happy Zoe Vegan Bakery
Address. 102 B Nassau Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222
Good to know — Fully vegan menu, good variety
A visit to Happy Zoe feels like a trip to grandma’s house thanks to the warn-in furniture and the aroma of baked goods. Not only is Happy Zoe one of the best bakeries in Williamsburg, it’s completely vegan! No need to double-check ingredients here. Using high-quality vegan products the flavors in the desserts are heavenly. So much so that even folks without dietary restrictions rave about the treats.
The cases are filled with both savory and sweet options. And the options aren’t limited here either. you’ll have the option of cakes, pie bars, donuts and so much more at this Williamsburg bakery.

Oneg Bakery
Address. 188 Lee Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211
Good to know — Famous for their babka, family-owned business
Hemishe Oneg Bakery has been a local Jewish favorite in the South Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn since the 1980s. Founded by two sisters who escaped the Holocaust, their signature dishes were comforting to the large Jewish community who call that area home.
Using Grandma’s cherished recipes, the grandchildren are currently running the business, which is still family-owned. The bakery’s reputation has started to spread beyond the neighborhood, luring New Yorkers from all five boroughs to experience one of the best bakeries in Williamsburg.
Best known for their double chocolate babka (which is often regarded as the best in the city) I’d be doing you a disservice if I didn’t recommend it. It’s heavy and dense and comes with enough chocolate to satisfy any sweet tooth. It’s even pretty to look at!
Charlotte Patisserie
Website— Charlotte Patisserie
Address. 596 Manhattan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222
Good to know — Quality ingredients used, nice cake variety
I discovered Charlotte Patisserie in a complete accident one day. As I was strolling down the block I noticed the most charming bakery nestled in the neighborhood. As soon as I stepped in I was greeted with really good smells of baking butter and the colorful display of tarts and cakes lining the display case.
Like any sane person, I ordered two (maybe three) treats and was pleasantly surprised to find an adorable patio seating area outside. Both the atmosphere and desserts blew all expectations out of the water. I’ve since been back an embarrassing amount of times which is why I consider this one of the best bakeries in Williamsburg.
Win Son Bakery
Website— Win Son Bakery
Address. 164 Graham Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11206
Good to know — Great savory options, full service restaurant across the street
Win Son Bakery is a really good Taiwanese-American bakery in Williamsburg that has stolen the hearts of many New Yorkers. This the place you run to when you want savory over sweet. A crowd favorite is (and will. The flavors work in perfect harmony together and the texture of the treat practically melts in your mouth.)
Across the street from the popular Williamsburg bakery, you’ll find the full-service restaurant version of Win Son. The restaurant constantly has a line thanks to their fantastic brunches. Regardless of if you plan a full meal or a quick coffee run, Win Son bakery should be high on everyone’s list.
Fortunato Brothers
Website— Fortunato Brothers
Address. 289 Manhattan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211
Good to know — Historical significance, unique desserts
Williamsburg Brooklyn has gone through radical change in the last few decades, but a staple of the old neighborhood has lived on. The Fortunato Brothers Bakery was founded in 1976 by three brothers from Italy. The Williamsburg bakery has stood the test of time thanks to mouthwatering treats. They make some of the best cannolis in New York City that have an audible crunch and silky smooth filling.
And not only do the Fortunato Brothers make a can’t-miss cannoli, but they also make a cannoli shot. Before my fellow boozy buds get excited, there’s no alcohol in it. A cup is made using the shell of a cannoli. And has a base of chocolate, then a layer of Nutella and it’s topped with cannoli cream. It’s a fun and unique treat being served out of one of the best bakeries in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Nick + Sons Bakery
Website— Nick + Sons Bakery
Address. 205 Leonard St, Brooklyn, NY 11206
Good to know — Prone to selling out quickly, long lines often
If you’re walking down the street and see a crowd just know you’re at the right place. Rain or shine New Yorkers will gladly wait in line for one of the most divine almond croissants being churned out of this Williamsburg bakery.
It’s essential to arrive early to have options before everything sells out. As I mentioned earlier, the popularity of the almond croissant is no joke. It’s not uncommon for doors to. The French treat is one of the first items to fly off the shelf but don’t beat yourself up if you miss it.

La Bicyclette Bakery
Website— La Bicyclette Bakery
Address. 667 Driggs Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211
Good to know — Long lines often, small venue
La Bicyclette Bakery is the most adorable French bakery in Williamsburg. Expect all the gems you’d find in a Parisian cafe from fresh baguettes to buttery, flakey croissants at this bake shop. Upon entry, you’ll see a window with direct views into the kitchen. It’s an extra little detail that. And there is nothing better than seeing the magic happen (so much butter!).
There are a few tables set out in the tiny bakery, but I always prefer to take my order to-go. This allows me to continue having tiny fantasies about living in Paris. Strolling through New York City’s streets holding a cappuccino and an au pain chocolate in hand. pinch me.

Levain
Website— Levain Bakery
Address. 164 N 4th St, Brooklyn, NY 11211
Good to know — World famous cookies, delicious hot chocolate
Chances are good that you’ve heard of Levain, arguably the most famous chocolate chip cookies in New York City, if not the world. Their gooey chocolate chip walnut cookies have amassed a cult-like following that only sounds surprising until you try them for yourself.
Since opening its doors in 1994 the cookie shop has spread like wildfire and has over 14 locations sprinkled throughout the country. It’s a no-brainer adding Levain to our list of best bakeries in Williamsburg!
The consistency doesn’t waver between locations, unlike some establishments. In turn, the cookies taste the same no matter where you purchase them. Additionally, it’s exciting when a popular spot lives up to the expectation, and Levain does so admirably.
