Oscar Wilde is a beautiful Victorian-style restaurant that goes all out with festive decorations. The restaurant is home to an impressive art collection, a cozy French fireplace from the 1840s, and stained glass from an Irish castle.

Every year during the holidays, Bacall’s restaurant in Times Square welcomes Frosty’s, an incredible Christmas pop-up. Frosty’s is made up of four bars spread across three floors making it one of the best Christmas pop-up bars in New York City (and it’s open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!).
Tickets start at $20 per person and grant you access to all three floors. However, if you choose to visit Bacall’s (the restaurant portion of the extravaganza) you won’t require a ticket. Admittedly. The food is a little bland, so I say stick to the drinks and gawk at the decorations.
Since Frosty’s is one of the best bars open on Christmas day in NYC I highly recommend making reservations. The decorations are second to none, there are plenty of photo-taking opportunities.

Greg Boehm founded Miracle when he opted to postpone construction his cocktail bar Mace in order to create a holiday-themed pop-up. He used the unfinished space, decked it out with Christmas decorations, and masterfully built a temporary holiday-inspired menu of craft cocktails.
It quickly became one of the best bars in New York City open on Christmas Eve and day. To no one’s surprise the word got out and locals started coming en masse. The next year they expanded the pop-up by partnering with more bars around the city and now Miracle is a worldwide company.
Today, New York City is home to Miracle on 9th in the East Village and Miracle on Union in Williamsburg, each worthy of being among the best bars open on Christmas Eve and day in NYC.

If you have an ugly holiday sweater you’ve been dying to wear all season put that baby on and head to Bazár Tapas Bar. It’s one of the best bars open on Christmas Eve in NYC and hosts an event you’re not going to want to miss.
From 9 pm to 1 am on Christmas Eve the bar will be holding an ugly sweater party that encourages folks to celebrate. The holidays in style. Bazár Tapas is also one of the only bars open on Christmas in NYC that still has reservations available. Try to book them early enough so you don’t have to deal with a line!

Not only is Loreley Beer Garden one of the best bars open on Christmas in New York City, it’s also home to the largest heated outdoor patio in the Lower East Side.
Regardless if you choose to sit inside or outside, you’ll be surrounded by over-the-top Christmas decorations and twinkling lights starting on November 16th, 2023. Out in the heated patio area, you’ll find a wall covered entirely by colorful ornaments that make for a great backdrop for Instagram photos.
While at Loreley Beer Garden, make sure to try any of their holiday cocktails. I’m partial to the famous Boozy Black & White Hot Chocolate made with bourbon and my wife loves the spiked eggnog! No wonder it’s one of my favorite bars open on Christmas Eve and day in NYC.

The murals were hand-painted by none other than the beloved illustrator behind the famous Madeline books, Ludwig Bemelmans (for whom the bar is named). The beautiful murals were commissioned in the 1940s and depict Central Park in all four seasons.
The staff are dressed to impress, the bar is dimly lit and the aged leather banquettes offer an air of sophistication and class.
